You don't want to put it on someone who can easily remove it, such as another Hunter with Craven Strategem, you'd want to put it on their pet. If you're playing Venthyr, one thing you want to keep in mind with Flayed Shot is who you put it on. You want to use your hardest hitting spells first, so you'll Wildfire Bomb into Chakrams into Flanking Strike then you'll go into weaving Raptor Strike and Kill Command. With talents such as Viper's Venom or Chakrams you want to just press these as they come up, and with Flanking Strike you want to make sure you get Focus from it, but it's more important to use it as a burst spell due to the high upfront damage it can bring.įor a quick priority on your rotation, it'll look something like this Serpent Sting> Kill Command (if Bloodseeker) > Chakrams (if selected) > Raptor Strike (if at 60+ Focus) > Flanking Strike (if selected )> Kill Command (if you need the Focus).Ī note on Flanking Strike, it can be used to either get extra Focus, or you can use it for a heavy burst option since it hits so hard that sometimes it's worth to forego the Focus part to get extra damage in.įor bursting on a Survival Hunter, it's just a simple priority system as the normal damage rotation. The basic rotation for the Survival Hunter is to keep up Serpent Sting, if you're running Bloodseeker keep up the bleed, keep one Wildfire Bomb charge on cooldown, and weave in Raptor Strike. Also Ret Paladins can Wake of Ashes stun your Undead Raptor. But if you are playing against Paladins or Priests playing without a Druid or Mage, you should get an non-Undead Raptor, since Paladins can Turn Evil and Priests can Shackle Undead your pet. This pet provides Master's Call, Pathfinding, a Mortal Wounds effect, and is immune to Polymorph. The best pet for PvP is an Undead Raptor, like Reban from King's Rest. One big tip to help get your pet resurrections off more - the combination of Craven Strategem into Camouflage helps you peel away and get into a position to get the revive uninterrupted! Despite all of this, you may find your pet dying anyways and trying to get them back up and is a pain. One way to help combat this issue is to be more mindful of where your pet is, what its health is, and keeping Mend Pet up as much as you can. With the decline of pet durability and with the changes to pet resurrection, you may find your pet dying far more often than in previous expansions. Here, you will need to make use of your Disengage, Master's Call, and Aspect of the Cheetah to quickly jump in, do your CC chain, and return back to the pillar before they can get big casts off. There will be matchups where you need to run in and out to not take damage or stay in line of casters such as Destruction Warlocks. You can use Harpoon to root healers in place to get traps on your own. You can use Wing Clip or Binding Shot to keep the healer in place to make it easier for yourself. You can communicate with your teammates to coordinate your CC together such as Hammer of Justice into Freezing Trap for an instant, powerful CC chain - but sometimes you'll need to land a Freezing Trap on your own.
